2021

Pique Technologies is founded by Jason Pfaff, locates headquarters in Crystal Lake, IL and hires first 10 team members including Exemplary RCDD design Engineer, Robert Lacey, as lead Technology Design Consultant / Project Manager

2022

Pique Technologies grows to service over 50 MSP Contracts with clients in 20 states. Grows to a team of 15 including Johathan Mandziara as Vice-President of Engineering and Nicholas Demchenko as Vice-President of Strategic Partnerships. Ends the year with working on 7 concurrent design consultation projects in 7 states.

2023

The Pique Technologies Team starts working on international projects in Canada. The design consulting team was specifically selected to provide due diligence, consulting, design, and project management for the first 20 properties of a new brand under the Hilton Collection. Design service projects span into 29 states, and Pique manages IT Systems for over 100 businesses in 26 states.

2024

Pique team designs with one of Time Magazines World’s Most Influential Architects for the Populus Hotel. Pique designed, securely deployed, and manages the IT on this property. Pique was tasked by one of Major League Baseball’s oldest teams to resolve a latency issue to ancillary properties within the park grounds and designed, project managed, and coordinated the audio visual refresh to enhance their guests’ game day experience.

Pique Technologies team have engaged in 75 design & consulting projects in 23 states, and currently supports the IT infrastructure for over 100 businesses in 34 states.

Jason Pfaff | RCDD & CHTP

Founder and President

As the Founder of Pique, I wear several hats – Design Consultant, Project Manager, and Business Owner. My journey at the company has been incredibly rewarding, especially in building and nurturing a team of exceptionally talented individuals who are the backbone of our success.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is the diverse range of projects we undertake. Whether it’s adaptive reuse, new construction, mixed-use, rebranding, or historic renovation, each project presents unique challenges. Collaborating with our brilliant and passionate team members to devise innovative solutions is what drives me every day.

In my personal life, I reside in the scenic northwest suburbs of Chicago with my wife and our two beautiful children. Our home is always filled with love, laughter, music and amazing meals. My favorite color is blue, which you can spot in our logo. When I’m not immersed in work, you’ll often find me outdoors. I have a deep-seated passion for backpacking, mountain biking (Midwest style), and exploring new destinations through travel. Anything that lets me breathe in fresh air and soak in nature’s beauty is right up my alley.

Nicholas Demchenko

Vice President, Strategic Partnerships

At Pique, I engage in forging strategic partnerships that simplify the intricacies of integrating technology into development projects, renovations, and operations. Leveraging our IT cybersecurity expertise and rapid-response capabilities, I focus on driving cost savings and ensuring streamlined processes. My proactive approach involves scouting potential industry partners – and enhancing Pique’s commitment to delivering unparalleled service and support.

One of my most gratifying experiences at Pique has been cultivating partnerships with its owners’ representatives, developers, architects, and other project stakeholders. Witnessing their relief as we resolve technology design and coordination challenges, especially for those new to our collaboration, underscores the value we bring. Many of our current development and renovation projects have blossomed from successful partnerships formed on previous endeavors.

On a personal note, I spent the majority of my life in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. However, in 2022, my incredible wife and I embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Southwest Florida with our three wonderful children. While our household is currently pet-free, the persistent requests from our children for a dog might soon find me caving in – stay tuned for updates!

Blue has always been my go-to color of choice. When I’m not immersed in work or family activities, my days are often filled with shuttling the kids to their various practices and coaching sessions. From church activities and gymnastics to swimming, soccer, flag football, volleyball, and school extracurriculars, our family calendar is bustling. If I manage to steal some time for myself, hitting the golf course or soaking up the sun at the beach feels like a win. And there’s nothing like rounding out a hectic week with a date night, exploring a new restaurant with my wife, to recharge and unwind.

Robert Lacey | RCDD & CompTIA Network+

Sr. Technology Consultant

I hold the role of Technology Design Consultant at Pique, where I specialize in shaping innovative design templates for Technology (IT and AV) Consulting projects. One of the highlights of my role is coordinating with fellow design consultants to specify ICT and AV equipment, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance for our projects.

Away from the drawing board and project blueprints, I lead a bustling life in the Chicagoland suburbs, where my wife, daughter, and our playful cat keep me on my toes. Forest Green stands out as my favorite color, resonating with my love for nature and tranquility.

When I’m not immersed in technology and design, you’ll often find me outdoors. Whether it’s walking, hiking, or biking, I cherish moments where I’m active and connected to my family and nature. Music holds a special place in my heart – be it recorded tracks or live performances. I find immense joy in delving deep into the intricacies of the technology and components that enhance our auditory experiences. To stay at the forefront of my field, I’m always keen on staying updated with the latest advancements in the design industry, as well as the evolving landscape of ICT and AV technologies, drawing insights from sources like BICSI, manufacturers, and beyond.

Jonathan Mandziara

Vice President, Engineering

In my role at Pique, I am committed to ensuring that our company resonates with the vision of offering the most timely, personable, meticulous, and secure customer service and support across our diverse clientele and verticals. This involves a continuous dedication to enhancing our service quality and aligning with our clients’ evolving needs.

Working at Pique has been a fun and exciting journey. I’ve cherished the opportunities to travel to our clients’ locations, tackle intricate technical challenges, and play a pivotal role in nurturing and educating our team. It’s been rewarding to cultivate a culture that prioritizes customer focus and a strong security mindset.

On the personal front, I hail as the youngest of three siblings and proudly the first to graduate from a 4-year university. My wife and I transitioned from the bustling city life of Downtown Chicago to Bloomingdale, and later settled in the tranquil Fox River Valley Area, seeking more space to nurture our growing family. Celebrating over two decades of marriage to my best friend, we are also blessed with two amazing boys – one navigating college life and the other thriving in high school. Our household is also home to two lovable shelter rescue cats, inseparable siblings from the same litter.

Red, white, and blue are not just colors to me; they symbolize pride, unity, and freedom. When I’m not immersed in work or family commitments, I find solace in various activities. From attending church and cherishing moments with friends and family to indulging in my passion for cooking, electronics, and travel – my interests are diverse. I have a fascination for anything with a motor, enjoy skiing and fishing, and find immense fulfillment in giving back to my community.
